BC Wine Reviews

A fresh look at the Wines of BC with Sommelier and Chef Jay Drysdale.
Nk'Mip Winery

Even though Nk'Mip is part of Vincor, this winery is more like a local secret.  Over delivering in quality for the price.  We hope corporate executives don't catch wind of this or we may see price increases.  I have been a big fan of this winery for many years and the best part is the wines just keep getting better.

Merlot Qwam Qwamt 2002

$25

Seven years on this wine and still showing young.  Complex aromatics with just a small amount of aged characteristics.  Full consistent complex palate of dark berry fruits, cigar, and chocolate.  Well built with aggressive tannins that are now soft.  A long full finish.  I'm impressed.  Had with truffled risotto, sauteed wild mushrooms and arugula and crispy skinned salmon.
